A Weird Chess Game is chess with one capture rule changed.
THE WEIRD RULE Pieces can only capture enemy pieces of the same type. • Pawns capture pawns • Knights capture knights • Queens capture queens • And so on
Everything else is normal chess: check, checkmate, castling, en passant, and promotion all work the usual way. That one capture rule changes tactics completely. Positions that look safe in normal chess may not be safe here — and the opposite is true too.
